Turkish Style Grilled Lamb and Chicken Recipe

Turkish feast made in the comfort of your home! Make your very own Turkish restaurant style chops, chicken wings, bulgur rice and chilli sauce using the recipe below! ⁣

Ingredients:
  • 1kg Chicken Wings add:
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 heaped Tbsp pepper flakes ⁣
  • 1 Tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp pepper paste
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 tsp paprika ⁣
  • 1 tsp cayenne
  • 1/2 tsp mixed herbs
  • 1 tsp jarred mint sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • 3-4 Tbsp olive oil ⁣
  • Juic of half a lemon
  • Add the same seasoning to 1kg lamb chops and an additional: ⁣
  • 1 heaped Tbsp yoghurt ⁣
  • 1 extra tsp mint sauce
Bulgur Wheat:
  • 2 cups bulgur wheat⁣
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 6 cloves minces garlic
  • 2 Tbsp tomato purée
  • 1 Tbsp paprika ⁣
  • 1 tsp cayenne
  • 1 tsp all purpose seasoning ⁣
  • 2 veg stock cubes
Chilli sauce:
  • 1 sweet shallot ⁣
  • 3 cloves garlic ⁣
  • 1/2 sweet pepper
  • 1 Tbsp mint sauce
  • 1 tsp pepper flakes
  • 1 Tbsp tomato purée
  • 1/2 can chopped tomato
  • 1 scotch bonnet (optional)
  • Handful of fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste ⁣
How To Make:
  1. Add all the seasonings to your wings and chops and marinate over night or as long as you can. ⁣
  2. Bake the wings at 200° for 40 mins. ⁣
  3. Pan fry the lamb chops for 8-10 mins per side depending on how you like it cooked.
  4. Rinse the bulgur and bring to a boil. A cup of water for every cup of bulgur.⁣
  5. In some oil brown your garlic, add the tomato purée and seasoning. Once browned add to your bulgur and simmer for 10 mins.
  6. For the chilli sauce, char the sweet pepper, shallot and garlic and add to a blend with the rest of the ingredients. ⁣
  7. Blend to your desired consistency.⁣
  8. Serve and Enjoy!⁣
